Mikkeller Ice Cold Pilsner is a quintessential German Pilsner designed for ultimate drinkability. It opens with a vibrant, flowery, and slightly spicy hop bouquet derived from traditional German hops, layered over a lean, crackery foundation of Continental Pilsner malt. The experience is defined by its crisp, clean fermentation profile and a refreshing, high carbonation that scrubs the palate. A delicate balance exists between the soft, grainy sweetness and a firm, persistent hop bitterness that guides the beer to a bone-dry, snappy finish. This lager prioritizes refreshment, offering a brilliantly clear, golden presentation that captures the essence of a modern, well-attenuated European lager.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (3 SRM) and brilliantly clear. Features a thick, creamy, long-lasting white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity hop aroma featuring spicy and flowery notes. Clean, low grainy-sweet malt character reminiscent of crackers. No yeast-derived esters or phenols; very clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial light, grainy-sweet malt flavor quickly gives way to a prominent herbal hop flavor. Medium-high bitterness that is firm but not harsh. The finish is very dry and crisp with a lingering bitterness and a touch of malt in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation that provides a crisp, refreshing bite. No alcohol warmth is present, and the texture is clean without any astringency.
