Escape is a vibrant Wild Specialty Beer that transports the palate to a tropical landscape, inspired by the classic Piña Colada cocktail. This kettle-soured ale is defined by a sharp, acidic punch of pineapple juice that harmonizes with the smooth, indulgent aroma of coconut essences. The sensory experience is intentionally evocative of a vacation, balancing a luxurious fruit character with a crisp, refreshing lactic tartness. While the malt remains a subtle, bready backdrop, the interplay between the bright citrus-like acidity and the creamy tropical notes creates a complex, refreshing profile that belies its approachable 5% ABV.
Appearance. Pale gold to straw (4-6 SRM) with a slight haze from fruit additions. Pours with a white, frothy head that exhibits moderate to low retention, typical of acidic styles, with minimal lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of fresh, ripe pineapple and sweet coconut essences dominate. A clean, sharp lactic sourness provides a bright top note. Malt character is very low and neutral, while hop aroma and yeast-derived esters are absent, allowing the specialty ingredients to lead.
Taste. The initial impression is a burst of tart pineapple juice followed quickly by a smooth, creamy coconut flavor.
