Mad Scientist’s Black Lines delivers a profound sensory experience, expertly balancing the intensity of a Double Black IPA. It pours an opaque, midnight black with a dense tan head. The aroma is high-intensity, bursting with resinous pine and sharp citrus zest, layered over delicate notes of dark chocolate and toasted malt. On the palate, a firm, aggressive bitterness provides the backbone for hop flavors of grapefruit and forest floor. The debittered specialty malts offer a smooth, chocolatey depth without any burnt astringency. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and velvety, finishing bone-dry with a sophisticated, lingering warmth from the high alcohol content.
Appearance. Dark brown to opaque black (SRM 35+). Features a moderate-sized, persistent light tan head with excellent lacing.

Malt flavors are restrained, offering smooth chocolate and coffee notes without burnt or ashy qualities. The finish is dry with a lingering resinous bitterness and a mild, clean alcohol presence.
