LoverBeer’s Pruss Perdu is a sophisticated Wild Specialty Beer that showcases a delicate interplay between orchard fruit and rustic fermentation. Effervescent and bright, it leads with an aromatic bouquet of ripe pear skins, weathered oak, and a complex funk characteristic of wild yeast. The palate is defined by a sharp, refreshing lactic acidity that lifts the subtle, floral notes of the fermented pears. Matured in oak barrels, the beer gains a structured dryness and a faint tannic grip that complements the lean malt base. It finishes exceptionally dry and clean, leaving a lingering impression of tart fruit and earthy spice.

Appearance. Deep gold to light amber (6–9 SRM); hazy to cloudy with a fine, white head that dissipates relatively quickly; minimal lacing due to high acidity.

Aroma. High intensity; prominent funky notes of barnyard, hay, and leather mixed with delicate, floral pear esters; subtle toasted oak and a hint of vanilla; malt is low, presenting as light cracker; no hop aroma.

Taste. Sharp, refreshing acidity dominates the initial impression; fermented pear flavor provides a fruity but bone-dry middle; no hop bitterness or flavor; complex wild character including earthy funk and mild tartness; finish is very dry, crisp, and slightly tannic from the oak barrels.

Mouthfeel. Light body; high carbonation providing a lively, spritzy prickle; light alcohol warmth; notable tannic astringency from wood aging; no creaminess.
