This Double IPA showcases a vibrant southern hemisphere hop profile, emphasizing the punchy, tropical character of Galaxy and the sophisticated, vinous qualities of Nelson Sauvin. Aromas of ripe mango and zesty citrus collide with the distinctive Sauvignon Blanc wine grape notes, underpinned by a resinous, pithy dankness. Despite its significant strength, the palate remains remarkably drinkable with a lean malt profile that allows the intense hop bitterness to shine. A crisp, dry finish ensures the complex fruit layers and lingering bitterness remain clean, delivering a powerful yet refined sensory experience typical of modern high-gravity hop-forward ales.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper with moderate clarity and a persistent, creamy off-white head that leaves consistent lacing.
Aroma. Intense and multifaceted hop aroma; dominant notes of ripe mango, passion fruit, and bright citrus from Galaxy hops are complemented by the crushed white grape and gooseberry character of Nelson Sauvin. A supportive, neutral, grainy malt presence sits in the background alongside a hint of dank resin and clean alcohol.
