La Superbe WILD BERRY is a decadent, modern interpretation of a Gose, reimagined as a lush pastry ale. It pours with a striking, hazy violet intensity, immediately releasing an aromatic bouquet of jammy Myrtille and rich, creamy Vanille. This sensory profile centers on the contrast between sharp lactic acidity and a sweet, dessert-like malt base, bolstered by a significant 7% ABV. Beneath the primary fruit and spice, a subtle thread of sea salt and citrusy coriander provides a mouthwatering, structural backbone. The experience is full and rounded, finishing with a lingering harmony of tart berry juice and smooth vanilla bean creaminess.
Appearance. Deep purple to magenta hue (SRM 25+); moderate to full haze. Dense, pinkish-white head with tight bubbles and fair retention; light lacing present.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant jammy blueberry and sweet, floral vanilla bean notes. A clean lactic tartness provides a sharp counterpoint to soft, doughy wheat malt. Subtle notes of bright, citrusy coriander; no hop aroma.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tart berry acidity followed by a smooth vanilla sweetness. Moderate bready and doughy malt flavor. Noticeable salinity appears mid-palate, providing a round, mouthwatering quality. Very low bitterness with no hop flavor. The finish is off-dry and lingering, balancing fruity tartness with a creamy, dessert-like aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a thicker, more viscous texture than a standard version. High carbonation with a tingly, effervescent quality. Noticeable alcohol warmth that is well-integrated and smooth.
