This Session Saison presents a bright, contemporary interpretation of the farmhouse tradition, emphasizing a refreshing, lean profile. The sensory experience is lead by a vibrant bouquet of Frozen Fresh Hops, specifically Mosaic, Citra, and Simcoe, which infuse the beer with intense layers of lemon zest, tropical fruit, and a distinct floral clarity. At a session-strength 4.5% ABV, the malt character remains understated and grainy, providing a crisp stage for the peppery Belgian yeast phenols to interact with the punchy hop oils. The result is an effervescent, highly attenuated ale that balances rustic spicy notes with a modern, citrus-forward finish.
Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (3-4 SRM). Persistent, frothy white head with excellent retention and fine lacing. Slight, hazy turbidity characteristic of an unfiltered ale.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of fresh lemon peel, grapefruit, and tropical berries from the Citra and Mosaic hops. Behind the citrus, Simcoe provides a light piney edge. Moderate spicy phenols reminiscent of white pepper and a faint, cracker-like malt sweetness round out the profile.
Taste. Initial impression is sharp, citrusy, and bone-dry. Bright lemon and lime flavors lead into a moderate hop bitterness that is accentuated by the high attenuation. The Simcoe and Citra hops provide a floral and resinous mid-palate, while the yeast contributes a light peppery spice. The finish is exceptionally clean and dry with a lingering floral aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light-bodied with a very high, effervescent carbonation level that creates a prickly sensation on the tongue. Zero alcohol warmth. Crisp and refreshing with no lingering sweetness or astringency.
