En la década de los 90, Armin y su familia Kunstmann deciden elaborar su propia cerveza, con el anhelo de retomar la tradición cervecera Valdiviana perdida con el terremoto.
En un principio, Armin Kunstmann elaboraba su cerveza como un hobby en casa, siendo ayudado por familiares y compartiendo sus pruebas con sus amigos más cercanos. Sin embargo, la familia Kunstmann dejó atrás sus pequeñas producciones de garaje en 1997 y motivados por su círculo más cercano, Armin Kunstmann se aventura en la construcción de una microcervecería, la Sociedad Cervecera Valdivia Ltda, con vista al proceso, ubicada en el sector de Torobayo, camino a Niebla. En este lugar también se preocupó de crear una propuesta gastronómica que acompañara las variedades de sus cervezas.
La mirada estratégica de Armin Kunstmann, situó la cervecería junto a las mejores aguas de Valdivia, una de las más blandas y cristalinas del mundo, ingrediente que se transformó en un sello distintivo en cada una de sus cervezas con características que respetan la regla de elaboración de la Ley de Pureza.
El día de hoy, Cerveza Kunstmann sigue siendo un proyecto familiar liderado por Armin con el apoyo de la segunda generación de su familia, que ha consolidado a Kunstmann como la cerveza especialista en variedades más consumida en el país, con 13 variedades producidas en su planta en Valdivia bajo los más altos estándares de calidad y tecnología, siendo exportada a los principales países sudamericanos y a otros continentes.
