Kaapse Carrie is a vibrant Specialty IPA that showcases a crystalline copper hue and a resilient, light beige foam. The sensory journey begins with an assertive aroma of bitter orange and zesty citrus, supported by a subtle, sweet malt backbone. On the palate, a distinct maltiness provides a brief foundation before being overtaken by an intense, lingering bitterness. The interplay between the toasted malt notes and the sharp citrus hop character creates a complex and balanced profile. Finishing dry and crisp, this ale delivers a medium-bodied experience with a gentle alcoholic warmth, staying true to its bold, hop-forward intent.

Appearance. Copper color (14-17 SRM). Crystalline clarity with a dense, persistent light beige head and visible lacing.

Aroma. Moderate to high hop intensity featuring prominent bitter orange, citrus zest, and light resinous notes. A supportive malt background offers moderate aromas of toasted bread and light caramel sweetness. Clean fermentation profile.

Taste. Initial impression is a balance of toasted malt sweetness followed quickly by a high hop bitterness. Strong flavors of bitter orange and citrus rind dominate the mid-palate. The finish is dry to slightly off-dry with a lingering, clean bitterness that does not become harsh. Complex malt-hop interaction without roasted or burnt character.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture. Moderate to high carbonation. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
