Durante mucho tiempo quisimos pillar Strata… finalmente lo conseguimos y en todo su esplendor, al estilo Garage. Este lúpulo ha sido de los mas comentados de las nuevas variedades del 2020 (y hasta incluso el lúpulo más adorado desde el lanzamiento de Mosaic) y hemos conseguido de la super fresca cosecha 2020. Esta variedad es resultado del programa de desarrollo de Indie Hops y muestra una versatilidad y complejidad extremas. Hemos puesto a saco en esta DIPA y lo hemos complementado por un toque de Mosaic. De primeras las notas complejas de Strata brillan mediante un mix de Pomelo, frutas tropicales, una ligera vibra a peras y un poco de resina. La combinación con Mosaic agrega un poco más de piña y más resina (con el toque exacto de dulzor) añadiendole más capas a esta birra, pero dejando brillar al Strata. Todo esto está basado sobre un cuerpo pleno, ligeramente dulce, a la vez que resinoso.. esta birra es como beberse un zumo de frutas tropicales en el medio de una plantación de maría. Off the bat the complex notes of Strata shine through with a heady mix of Grapefruit, tropical fruits, a slight pear vibe and some dank. Combined with Mosaic. some extra pineapple and slight dank (even sweat but in a good way) add another layer to this beer but make no mistake this is all about Strata. Layered atop a full bodied, slightly sweet but sticky body this is like drinking a tropical fruit sorbet in the middle of a cannabis plantation.

Garage – Spice. Aunque sus orígenes apenas se remontan 5 años ha (2015), los barceloneses Garage Beer Co ya se pueden considerar como uno de los puntales del movimiento craft nacional. Desde que en el 2015 se instalaran como un BrewPub en el barcelonés barrio del Eixample, se han situado como avanzadilla de la vanguardia birrera. Su crecimiento en los primeros años fue tan exponencial que, enseguida, en el 2017, ampliaron su producción con la construcción de una fábrica en Sant Andreu. Actualmente, ya figuran en un selecto grupo de breweries a nivel europeo. También lideran las tendencias del lúpulo y promueven festivales punteros como el Mash , donde participan los mejores cerveceras europeas y americanas. Podéis estar tranquilos, no, no se trata de una IPA con habaneros y picante como el mismísimo demonio. Estamos ante una DIPA de 8% al más estilo Garage en la que se han servido del lúpulo más aclamado del año pasado: el Strata. Este nuevo lúpulo dota a la cerveza de notas a pomelo, frutas tropicales y un ligero toque de pera. Se encuentra, a su vez, acompañado por la dosis justa de Mosaic que añade algo de piña y un cierto perfil danky. Como ellos mismos nos describen, darle un trago a esta Garage – Spice es “como beber un sorbete de frutas tropicales en medio de una plantación de cannabis.”
