Borrowed Light is a luminous Hazy IPA that exemplifies the modern juicy profile through a deliberate double dry-hop treatment. The aromatic profile is dominated by a saturated blend of Citra and Manilita, delivering a dense canopy of pink grapefruit, ripe peach, and mango. On the palate, the soft, cereal-forward malt base provides a velvety foundation for the intense tropical fruit expression. The finish is remarkably smooth, with the bitterness dialed back to ensure the hop oils remain the focal point. It concludes with an off-dry, lingering citrus zest that invites another sip, showcasing a sophisticated balance of yeast esters and hop saturation.

Appearance. Pours a deep straw to pale gold (4–5 SRM) with a characteristic opaque, glowing haze. Topped by a dense, white, meringue-like head that exhibits excellent retention and leaves thick rings of lacing.

Aroma. High intensity aroma bursting with tropical and citrus character. Dominant notes of sweet mango, lime zest, and stone fruit from the Citra and Manilita hops. The malt is subtle but present as a clean, bready, and slightly doughy backdrop. Esters are supportive, leaning into a peach-like sweetness with no detectable alcohol or harshness.

Taste. The initial impression is a wash of tropical fruit juice. Bold flavors of grapefruit juice and ripe apricot are layered over a soft, grainy malt backbone. Perceived bitterness is low to moderate, providing just enough structure to balance the fruitiness without lingering. The finish is clean and off-dry, featuring a smooth, fruity aftertaste that avoids any hop burn or astringency.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a smooth and creamy mouthfeel rather than a prickly one. There is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth, but no harshness or astringency is present.
