This historic Greek American Lager presents a refined and approachable sensory profile characterized by its distinctive fermentation character. Pouring a brilliant pale straw, it leads with a delicate aroma where soft, grainy malt meets unexpected but pleasant yeast-derived notes of fresh apple and banana. The palate is exceptionally smooth and soft, showcasing a balanced bitterness that supports a neutral malt base. While maintaining the crisp, high carbonation expected of the style, the finish is notably rounded and long-lasting. It strikes a harmonious balance between refreshing simplicity and a subtle fruity complexity that differentiates it from more sterile international counterparts.

Appearance. Very pale straw to medium yellow (2-3 SRM); brilliant clarity; frothy white head with moderate persistence and light lacing.

Aroma. Low intensity; clean and grainy malt sweetness; light floral hop notes; unique moderate fruity esters of red apple and ripe banana derived from fermentation; no diacetyl.

Taste. Initial impression is crisp and neutral; light grainy malt flavor with a hint of sweetness; low floral and herbal hop flavor; low to medium-low bitterness; subtle fruitiness persists into a clean, dry, and rounded finish with a lingering soft aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body; high carbonation with a refreshing carbonic bite; smooth texture; no alcohol warmth; very low astringency.

As purveyor to the court of the Greek king, the company was able to maintain a monopoly position in the Greek market for about 100 years. After the bankruptcy of the company in 1983 and several failed revival attempts to revive it, Fix beer has been brewed again in its own brewery since 2009. The reason for this is the relatively high popularity of beer in the country for Mediterranean countries. Fix Hellas is a premium lager with it’s soft flavour, has a balanced bitterness which enhances the flavours from fermentation. It has a prevailing scent of fresh apple and banana. The Olympic Brewery was bought out by Carlsberg in 2015.
