Farruca / In Peccatum Citrabot
This Double IPA is a powerhouse of Citra hops, delivering an explosive sensory profile of ripe mango, grapefruit zest, and tropical fruit. Brewed with oats and wheat, it presents a signature hazy and robust structure that balances the intense hop saturation. Despite its significant strength, the palate remains remarkably juicy, showcasing the pure essence of the Citra hop variety. The high alcohol content is well-integrated, providing a smooth, warming backdrop to the sharp citrus bitterness and resinous undertones, culminating in a complex, lingering finish that highlights the brewery's focus on hop-forward intensity and modern textural depth.
Appearance. SRM 6-8, pale gold to light orange. Opaque and very cloudy with a thick, persistent off-white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by Citra variety characteristics, including grapefruit, passion fruit, and melon. Low grainy-sweet malt presence with light fruity esters and a clean, noticeable alcohol warmth in the background.
Taste. Initial impression of intense citrus and tropical fruit hops. Low to moderate supportive malt flavor with grainy sweetness from wheat and oats. Hop bitterness is firm and high but lacks harshness. Finish is medium-dry with a lingering hoppy and resinous aftertaste; very low fruit esters and smooth alcohol character.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, smooth texture from the addition of oats and wheat. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth without being solventy.
