Dutch Bargain Woest presents a formidable sensory experience evocative of a stormy coastline. This Imperial Stout pours an impenetrable pitch-black with a dense, mocha-colored head. The aroma is dominated by rich dark chocolate and aromatic vanilla, supported by deep-seated notes of espresso and black licorice. On the palate, a luscious, velvety texture delivers intense flavors of bittersweet cocoa and roasted grains. Nuances of dried plums and raisins emerge as the liquid warms, while the significant alcohol presence provides a comforting, heart-warming glow. The finish is long and complex, balancing a residual malt sweetness with a firm, roasty bitterness and lingering notes of charred oak.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40 SRM). Topped by a thick, persistent deep tan head with fine lacing. High viscosity is evident, leaving distinct legs on the glass as it is swirled.

Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring bittersweet chocolate, roasted coffee beans, and prominent creamy vanilla. Secondary notes of dark fruit esters, specifically raisins and prunes, meld with a faint earthy hop character and a clean, warming alcohol presence.

Taste. Bold initial impression of dark cocoa and charred grain. The mid-palate is rich with vanilla and toasted malt sweetness. Hop bitterness is firm and well-integrated, balancing the substantial malt weight.
