This Belgian Golden Strong Ale presents a complex marriage of potent strength and deceptive elegance. An aromatic bouquet of pear and herbal Golding hops rises from the glass, underpinned by the unique house character of De Dolle. While pale malt and cane sugar provide an initial honey-like sweetness, the palate quickly shifts toward a characteristic dryness. Moderate peppery phenols and a firm bitterness balance the 10% ABV, creating a crisp, effervescent experience. This rabbit of the wood remains remarkably drinkable, masking its warmth with high carbonation and a lingering, spicy finish that defines the Belgian Easter tradition.

Appearance. Deep gold color (6 SRM) with brilliant clarity and a massive, rocky white head that leaves persistent lacing. Highly effervescent.

Aroma. High intensity featuring a complex blend of pear and apple esters alongside herbal and spicy Golding hop notes. Subtle honey-like sweetness from the cane sugar complements a light, grainy pale malt base, while peppery alcohol adds a sophisticated perfume.

Taste. An initial impression of cane sugar and honey transitions into a complex profile of pome fruit and peppery phenols. The herbal flavor of Golding hops is prominent, supported by a moderate bitterness that cuts through the malt. The finish is remarkably dry and long, with a clean, spicy aftertaste.
