Corsendonk Blanche
Corsendonk Blanche is a classic and refreshing Witbier, characterized by its signature milky, pale straw appearance and a compact, creamy white head that shows excellent persistence. The aromatic profile is led by soft yeast-derived esters and a bright, perfumy bouquet of coriander and zesty orange. On the palate, it offers a remarkably soft and smooth texture driven by unmalted wheat, complemented by crisp notes of lemon and a gentle herbal spice. With its light body and high carbonation, this unfiltered ale delivers an effervescent mouthfeel and a clean, dry finish, perfectly balancing its subtle spice with a thirst-quenching acidity.
Appearance. Very pale straw with a milky, whitish-yellow shine (SRM 2-4); very cloudy and unfiltered. Features a dense, white, compact, and creamy head with excellent persistence.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with a bready, grainy wheat malt base. Pronounced zesty orange citrus and perfumy-lemony coriander aromatics. Low spicy yeast esters with a clean fermentation profile and no hop aroma.
Taste. Initial bready wheat malt flavor followed by moderate zesty orange fruitiness. Gentle herbal-spicy flavors, including lemony coriander, are well-integrated and subtle. Low hop bitterness provides balance without becoming assertive. Finishes refreshingly crisp and dry with no harsh aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a characteristic smoothness and light creaminess from the wheat. High carbonation creates a lively, effervescent sensation. Very refreshing with no alcohol warmth or astringency.
