Cloudwater Brew Co

This intense Double IPA pays homage to Californian West Coast legends, delivering a massive, crystalline sensory experience. Despite its 10.5% strength, the profile remains exceptionally balanced and crisp. The aroma is a powerhouse of resinous pine, sharp grapefruit, and tropical zest, supported by a neutral, grainy malt backbone. On the palate, a wave of aggressive yet clean bitterness dominates, followed by layers of citrus peel and dank resin. It finishes remarkably dry and rounded, concealing its potent alcohol warmth behind a wall of modern hop intensity that lingers long after the final sip, maintaining high drinkability for its stature.

Appearance. Brilliantly clear, deep gold to pale orange-copper (SRM 7-9). Topped with a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves dense lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of resinous pine, grapefruit zest, and subtle tropical stone fruit. Background malt is neutral and clean, with a hint of grainy sweetness. A soft, clean alcohol presence is noticeable but well-integrated and refined.

Taste. Initial impression is a punch of citrus and pine hop flavors. High hop bitterness is firm and assertive but lacks harshness. Malt character is supportive and clean, providing a soft bready foundation without residual sweetness. The finish is strikingly dry and crisp, with a long, lingering bitterness and clean hop resins.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from hop oils, yet appearing crisp. Medium carbonation. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth provides a pleasant presence without being solventy or hot.
