This award-winning American Pale Ale from Camba Bavaria showcases the vibrant potential of dry-hopping, or "Hopfenstopfen." It opens with an intense, exotic bouquet reminiscent of a tropical fruit basket, where bright notes of mango, passion fruit, and pineapple intermingle with zesty grapefruit and citrus. This aromatic complexity is anchored by a clean, supporting malt backbone that allows the hop-forward character to shine without being overwhelming. On the palate, the beer is lively and spritzy, balancing a moderate bitterness with juicy stone fruit nuances like mirabelle. It concludes with a clean, refreshing finish that exemplifies the classic drinkability of the style.
Appearance. Deep golden to pale amber (approx. 7 SRM). Brilliant clarity. Features a thick, long-lasting white head with fine-beaded lacing.
Aroma. High intensity of fresh, tropical hop aromas including ripe mango, passion fruit, and pineapple, complemented by sharp grapefruit and citrus zest. A faint, sweet stone fruit note of mirabelle emerges. The malt provides a clean, lightly grainy and bready foundation that remains in the background. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial burst of tropical fruit juice—mango and pineapple—followed by a firm, refreshing citrus bitterness. The malt character is neutral and supportive, tasting of light crackers or bread crust. The middle palate reveals subtle mirabelle stone fruit.
