Vielerorts in Deutschland, vor allem aber bei uns im Norden, ist der Bezug zu Bier als ein frisch vor Ort und für den unmittelbaren Genuss gebrautes Naturprodukt im Laufe des letzten Jahrhunderts völlig verloren gegangen. Globalisierung, Massenproduktion, Standardisierung, Marketing und Preiskampf stehen auf der einen Seite; Qualität, Vielfalt, Geschmack und Frische meistens auf der anderen. Vielleicht ist diese Entwicklung nirgendwo deutlicher zu spüren als in Hamburg, einst gerühmt als Brauhaus der Hanse und heute, was Bier angeht, mehr oder weniger komplett von der Landkarte verschwunden, um nicht zu sagen: abgesoffen!.
Buddelship will die Seele des Bieres, nämlich Leidenschaft und handwerkliche Braukunst, wieder zum Leben erwecken und mit der ganzen natürlichen, historischen und geografischen Vielfalt füllen, die Hamburg und die Welt zu bieten haben. Bier ist mehr als nur ein Getränk, es ist Lebensgefühl, Naturverbundenheit und internationales Kulturgut. Deswegen lassen wir unser Bier auch so, wie es ist: unfiltriert, frisch und lebendig.
Darüber hinaus wollen wir auch die Zutaten von Bier wieder in den Vordergrund stellen, denn das Spannende und Schöne beim Bier ist gerade dessen Vielfalt. Wir möchten euch internationale Biere näherbringen und versuchen, neue Akzente zu setzen und Grenzen auszutesten.
