The Port barrels contribute a vinous elegance, adding layers of sweet red wine and subtle oak tannins that intertwine with earthy, marmalade-like hop character. Aroma. High intensity. Rich bready and toasty malt with deep caramel and toffee. Pronounced dark fruit—dried figs and raisins—complemented by a distinct vinous Port wine aroma. Moderate earthy hop presence with soft, rounded alcohol.
Taste. Initial impression is an intense, multi-layered malty sweetness featuring biscuit and dark caramel. High fruitiness of black cherries and prunes. Moderate hop bitterness provides a structured counterpoint to the sweetness. Port influence adds complex red wine and oak flavors. Finishes moderately sweet with a long, lingering vinous aftertaste.
