BRULO Tropic of Now DDH IPA

This non-alcoholic take on an American Lager presents a craft-forward profile, utilizing a base of Pilsner malt supplemented by Wheat, Oats, and Rye for a nuanced grain character. Generously double dry hopped with Citra, Azacca, Sabro, and Columbus, it delivers an aromatic profile defined by tropical waves and stone fruit, diverging from traditional neutral lager expectations. While maintaining a refreshing essence, the addition of these new world hops introduces layers of pineapple, coconut, and citrus, balanced by a gentle bitterness. The result is a clean-finishing, crisp beverage that bridges the gap between a traditional lager and a modern hop-driven ale.
Appearance. Very pale straw (3 SRM). Features a white, frothy head with moderate persistence. Despite the style's typical brilliance, this version exhibits a slight haze from the inclusion of wheat and oats and the double dry hopping process.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with a clean fermentation profile. While the style allows for low grainy malt, the Pilsner malt and rye provide a subtle cracker-like base. The primary character is hop-driven, showcasing non-traditional notes of tropical fruit, mango, and a hint of coconut from the Citra, Azacca, and Sabro additions.
Taste. The palate is relatively neutral and crisp, leading to a dry finish. It features a low grainy-sweet malt flavor from the Pilsner base. Hop flavor is more pronounced than typical examples, offering tropical and citrus qualities with a low to medium-low bitterness. It remains well-balanced and highly refreshing, lacking the heavy sweetness or harshness of stronger ales.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body, offering slightly more weight than a standard light lager due to the protein from oats and wheat. Carbonation is high, providing a sharp, refreshing carbonic bite. Alcohol warmth is entirely absent, reflecting its non-alcoholic nature.
