Belgian Tripel 8.7 º 35 IBU
Brugge Tripel delivers a sophisticated sensory experience rooted in medieval tradition, centered on a proprietary 'gruut' spice blend. This Belgian Tripel showcases a complex aromatic profile where distinctive phenolic notes and subtle smoky hints merge with fruity esters. Intense kettle boiling provides a rich, caramelized malt sweetness that balances the firm, herbaceous bitterness of its aromatic hops. Visually stunning, it pours a brilliant gold with a dense, rocky white head that leaves intricate lacing. The palate is full and creamy, offering a harmonious interplay of honeyed malt and spicy botanicals, finishing with a warming, dry elegance.
Appearance. SRM 5–7. Deep gold to blonde with brilliant clarity. Features a massive, rocky, long-lasting white head that leaves dense lace patterns on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity. A complex marriage of spicy, phenolic 'gruut' herbs, featuring peppery and faint smoked notes. Sweet malt character displays honey and light caramelization. Esters are prominent, leaning toward pear and apricot, supported by floral aromatic hops.
Taste. Initial rich, honeyed malt sweetness with a distinctive caramelized sugar depth. The flavor is defined by a bitter-sweet balance where herbal 'gruut' spices provide a unique peppery and phenolic complexity. Hop bitterness is moderate to firm, cutting through the creamy malt. Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a noticeably rich and creamy texture. High carbonation provides an effervescent, sparkling mouthfeel. Alcohol presence is noticeable and warming but smooth.
