Liana is a refined expression of the American IPA style, specifically showcasing a sophisticated dry-hop combination of Triumph and Cascade. The sensory journey begins with an aromatic bouquet of ripe peach and bright lime from the Triumph hops, harmonizing with the classic grapefruit and floral lift of Cascade. On the palate, a clean, grainy malt backbone allows these hop layers to shine, introducing subtle hints of spice and orange zest. This beer maintains a firm, integrated bitterness that leads into a crisp, dry finish, balancing modern fruit-forward hop character with the classic, hop-dominant structure of the style.
Appearance. Medium gold in color (approx. 7 SRM) with a slight, attractive haze. It features a medium-sized, long-lasting white head with fine lacing.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring prominent stone fruit, specifically peach, alongside grapefruit, pine, and soft floral notes. A low, clean, crackery maltiness supports the hops without adding sweetness, accompanied by a very clean fermentation profile.
Taste. High hop flavor echoing the aroma's peach, citrus, and floral character. The bitterness is medium-high and firm but smooth, supported by a light bready malt foundation. The finish is dry and clean with a lingering hoppy and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Carbonation is medium-high, contributing to a refreshing prickle on the tongue. There is no astringency and only a very faint, smooth alcohol warmth.
