Saison 8 º 30 IBU
This robust Saison pours with a distinct rustic elegance, capturing the quintessential farmhouse spirit of Brasserie de Blaugies. On the nose, an alluring mustiness intertwines with aromas of freshly baked bread and vibrant citrus. The inclusion of white granulated sugar ensures a high degree of attenuation, allowing a hardy, semi-dry malt profile to support expressive fruity esters and peppery spice. At 8% alcohol by volume, a gentle warmth complements a fresh, earthy hop character, leading into a bone-dry, effervescent finish. It is a complex, spirited ale that masterfully balances traditional Belgian yeast character with a deep, earthy soul.
Appearance. Light amber (SRM 8-12); long-lasting, dense, rocky ivory head with significant Belgian lace; hazy and unfiltered with visible effervescence.
Aroma. High intensity; a complex bouquet of citrus and pome fruit esters alongside moderate peppery phenols; moderate bready and grainy malt character; moderate earthy and floral hops with a distinctive, rustic mustiness.
Taste. Initial impression is lively and spicy; hardy, grainy malt flavors of bread and soft cereal; moderate hop bitterness (approx. 30 IBU) provides a firm structure; abundant citrus and stone fruit yeast esters with a lingering peppery phenol; exceptionally dry finish with a clean, spicy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body; very high carbonation, providing a prickly and effervescent sensation; noticeable but pleasant alcohol warmth; smooth with no astringency.

La Moneuse Saison – Blaugies

La Moneuse is named for A. J. Moneuse, a famous local bandit and gang leader, an ancestor of the brewers’ family. It is a classic “saison” beer by virtue of its strength and its earthy, aged quality. It has a hardy, semi-dry malt character, a fresh but not overpowering hoppiness, abundant yeasty, fruity flavours and a fairly strong, but pleasant and enticing mustiness.
