Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40+). Pours with a dense, persistent deep tan head that leaves thick lacing. High viscosity is apparent through visible legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant notes of bittersweet chocolate and sea-salted caramel. The Cognac barrels contribute vinous, oaky, and dried fruit aromas like raisins and plums. Subtle roasted malt scents of espresso and charred grain provide a robust backdrop, with minimal hop presence.
