This barrel-aged Imperial Stout presents a masterful synthesis of English and German malts, refined by a massive four-hour boil and extended maturation in bourbon casks. The result is an opaque, mahogany-hued liquid exuding a rich bouquet of dark chocolate, espresso, and caramelized sugar, interwoven with sophisticated notes of vanilla, toasted oak, and a whisper of bourbon spirit. On the palate, its dense, velvety texture carries layers of molasses, dried figs, and a mellow, well-integrated alcohol warmth. The low carbonation emphasizes a luxurious, chewy mouthfeel, finishing with a harmonious blend of roasted bitterness and lingering wood tannins.
Appearance. Intense dark brown to jet black (SRM 40+); opaque clarity. Features a thin, dark tan head with low retention and notable viscosity as 'legs' on the glass, typical of high alcohol content.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and black licorice. The four-hour boil contributes deep molasses and toffee notes, while the bourbon barrels add layers of vanilla, toasted oak, and a subtle spirituous character. Low esters of prune and raisin are present.
Taste. Bold initial impression of cocoa and charred grain, supported by a significant malt sweetness of treacle and fig. Moderate to high bitterness is present but smoothed by barrel tannins and vanillins. The finish is long and bittersweet, with a harmonious interplay of roast, wood essence, and warming alcohol.
Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied and viscous with a chewy, luscious texture. Carbonation is very low, enhancing the velvety sensation. Significant but well-integrated alcohol warmth provides a soothing, background glow without harshness.

Ispirata al tradizionale stile inglese, attualmente molto popolare in America e a livello internazionale, è frutto di un lungo lavoro di maturazione in botti di ex bourbon: la birra acquisisce in questo modo sia le caratteristiche sensoriali della bevanda che in precedenza ha sostato nella botte, che gli aromi del legno, i quali risultano meno spiccati rispetto ad un primo passaggio. Mosto prodotto con una miscela di malti inglesi e tedeschi che subisce una bollitura prolungata di quattro ore ottenendo, oltre ad una densità zuccherina elevata, prodotti aromatici unici. Birra dal colore bruno intenso, dall’aspetto denso e dai sapori ed aromi penetranti che si fondono per creare un prodotto complesso ed armonioso. Il carattere etilico risulta coerente con la complessità aromatica ed il corpo denso entra in melodia con le essenze legnose conferendo una sensazione vellutata in bocca, complice la bassissima carbonatazione.
