The nose is greeted by an immediate, pastry-forward rush of ripe caramelized banana and rich buttery toffee, layered over a foundation of dark chocolate and roasted malts. On the palate, the 11% ABV provides a structural warmth that supports flavors of biscuity pie crust and creamy vanilla. The roast character is softened by the adjunct-inspired sweetness, finishing with a lingering dessert-like richness. It bridges the gap between a classic, robust stout and a lavish confection, offering a chewy, velvet-textured indulgence.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40 SRM). Pours with a thick, creamy, deep tan head that shows moderate retention and leaves significant oily legs on the glass due to high viscosity.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of caramelized banana, rich toffee, and vanilla bean. The base exhibits deep roasted notes of dark chocolate and espresso, with a subtle hint of dark fruit esters and a clean, warming alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial impression is sweet and confectionery, dominated by banana and buttery caramel. Mid-palate reveals toasted bread, cocoa, and charred grain. Bitterness is moderate but balanced by the heavy residual sweetness. The finish is long and rich with lingering notes of vanilla and dark chocolate.
