This luscious Double IPA showcases a soft, squidgy profile derived from a heavy grist of oats and wheat. The hop profile is led by hand-selected Citra, Galaxy, and Motueka, which combine to create a vibrant sensory experience. Expect an aromatic explosion of fresh OJ and zesty mojito-like lime, transitioning into a palate rich with lemon curd and the velvety sweetness of ripe flat peaches. While maintaining the strength of its style, the beer offers a smooth, unctuous texture that balances high hop intensity with a clean, supportive malt base, delivering a modern, fruit-forward interpretation of the style.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (6-8 SRM). Dense, creamy white head with excellent retention and thick lacing. Opaque to heavily hazy, consistent with the high protein content from oats and wheat.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by tropical and citrus hop notes: prominent lime zest, fresh orange juice, and peach skin. Supportive background of bready, grainy malt. Fermentation profile is clean with very low fruity esters.
Taste. Immediate impact of tropical fruit and citrus. Flavors of sweet lemon curd and zesty lime are front and center, supported by a soft, bready malt foundation. Medium-high hop bitterness is present but well-integrated and smooth, never harsh. Finishes with a lingering juicy orange and stone fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creamy, unctuous texture from the oats. Moderate carbonation. Smooth alcohol warmth is noticeable but well-integrated. Low astringency.
