This saturated Double IPA delivers an intense, modern New World hop profile through a potent collaboration. A heavy-handed addition of Galaxy, Rakau, and Nelson Sauvin hops creates an aromatic explosion of ripe tangerine and tropical passionfruit. The sensory experience is further deepened by stone fruit notes of apricot and a distinctive vinous quality reminiscent of Ortega grapes. While the 8% ABV provides a smooth, warming foundation, the beer remains lean and drinkable, avoiding excessive sweetness. It finishes with a clean, lingering bitterness that highlights the intricate interplay of citrus and southern hemisphere fruit character, supported by a neutral, grainy malt backbone.
Appearance. Gold to light orange (7-9 SRM); moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with excellent lacing; slight haze is present, typical of modern dry-hopping levels.
Aroma. High intensity; dominant tropical fruit notes of passionfruit and apricot from Rakau and Galaxy; vinous, gooseberry-like Nelson Sauvin character; supportive neutral, crackery malt; low fruity esters; no solventy alcohol.
Taste. Punchy tangerine and stone fruit flavors; high hop bitterness that remains smooth rather than harsh; low neutral malt sweetness; clean fermentation profile; dry finish with a long, resinous, and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture; moderate carbonation; noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth; no hop-derived astringency.
