Imperial IPA 8 º
This Double IPA is an olfactory explosion of Simcoe and Citra hop oils, offering an intensely ripe profile of mango, passionfruit, and resinous pine. The grist, featuring a heavy proportion of wheat and oats, creates a foggy, pale appearance and a signature pillowy-soft mouthfeel that supports the massive dry-hop charge. Despite its strength, the beer remains remarkably juicy, balancing pungent citrus zest and tropical fruit notes against a clean, unobtrusive malt backbone. It is a modern, vibrant expression of the style, where the velvety texture carries the hop intensity through to a smooth, lingering finish.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (6-8 SRM). Opaque and foggy with a dense, persistent white head that leaves thick, soapy lacing.
Aroma. Intense aroma dominated by Simcoe and Citra hops. Prominent notes of crushed pineapple, ripe mango, and grapefruit peel are layered over a subtle, dank resinous pine. Low grainy-sweet malt scent with a clean fermentation profile and a faint hint of warming alcohol.
Taste. High-intensity hop flavors mirroring the aroma, focusing on tropical stone fruit and bright citrus. Bitterness is firm but smooth, lacking harshness. The malt provides a soft, bready supportive role from the wheat and oats. Finishes medium-dry with a long, fruit-forward aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a distinctively creamy, pillowy texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth. No hop-derived astringency.
