This Hazy IPA showcases a sophisticated blend of Mosaic, Cashmere, Idaho 7, Zappa, and Mosaic Lupomax hops, delivering an interstellar burst of guava and passion fruit. The addition of Amarillo in the hot phase anchors the profile with complex citrus layers. Utilizing Pomona yeast, the fermentation character enhances the tropical depth, merging seamlessly with the juicy hop expression. The grist, featuring Extra Pale malt and flaked oats, alongside dextrin and carapils, creates a velvety, opaque texture. It is a vibrant exploration of modern hop science, offering a soft, pillowy landing on the palate with minimal bitterness and maximum fruit saturation.
Appearance. Luminous straw to light orange (4-6 SRM) with a characteristic opaque haze. Topped by a dense, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics dominated by tropical guava, ripe passion fruit, and bright tangerine. Clean, bready malt notes from Extra Pale malt provide a subtle backdrop, while the Pomona yeast contributes supporting stone fruit esters without any herbal or grassy notes.
Taste. A wave of juicy tropical fruit flavors including guava and citrus. Low to medium-low bitterness ensures a soft presentation. The malt profile is light and grainy, allowing the complex Mosaic and Idaho 7 hop oils to shine. Finishes smooth and off-dry with a lingering, tropical aftertaste devoid of harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creaminess and soft, pillowy texture derived from flaked oats. Carbonation is moderate, and there is a very gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth with no astringency.
