Aroma. High intensity; dominant aromas of roasted hazelnut and milk chocolate over a base of rich caramel and toasty maltiness. Moderate citrusy and resinous American hop character persists. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol perfume and moderate fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of sweet caramel and hazelnut. Malt flavors are strong and bready, featuring crystal malts that provide a thick sugary base. Mid-palate reveals dark chocolate and nutty confectionary notes. Moderate to moderately-high bitterness from American hops provides necessary balance to the intense sweetness. Finish is long and sweet with a persistent hazelnut aftertaste and significant alcohol warmth.
