This German Pils from Azimut Brasserie offers a masterclass in refreshment, delivering a strikingly crispy and thirst-quenching profile. The sensory experience is driven by a sophisticated hop duo; Spalter Select contributes refined notes of dried herbs and delicate spice, while Target provides a sturdy, clean bitterness and earthy depth. A base of continental Pilsner malt provides a foundational layer of toasted cracker and light honey sweetness, ensuring the assertive hop character remains balanced. Brilliant clarity and a snappy, minerally finish make this a quintessential example of the style, emphasizing a dry and lean character that remains exceptionally easy to drink.
Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (approx. 3 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a dense, creamy white head that exhibits excellent retention and fine lacing.
Aroma. Moderately high intensity featuring prominent herbal and spicy hop notes from Spalter Select and Target hops. Supported by a low grainy-sweet, cracker-like malt aroma with a hint of honey. Clean fermentation profile with no yeast-derived esters or phenols.
Taste. Crisp malt presence initially with toasted cracker flavors, followed immediately by a firm, clean hop bitterness. Hop flavors are decidedly herbal and earthy. The balance is bitter and highly attenuated, leading into a bone-dry, refreshing finish with a lingering spicy hop aftertaste.
