Amundsen Ink & Dagger
This American IPA is a contemporary hop showcase, delivering an intense lupulin blast that defines its modern character. An assertive hop oil presence coats the palate with vivid layers of succulent mango and fresh pineapple, balanced by a distinctive sensory undertone of wet tropical grass. While the intensity is pushed to the limit, the beer maintains the classic structure of the style with a clean, supportive malt backbone and a sharp, resinous bitterness. It finishes crisp and dry, leaving a lingering impression of tropical fruit and high-decibel hop saturation that demands another sip.
Appearance. Deep gold to light amber (8 SRM) with a slight, modern haze. Features a dense, off-white head with excellent persistence and intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet dominated by tropical fruit notes of ripe mango and pineapple. Subtle resinous hop oil and a hint of wet grass provide complexity, supported by a low, clean, grainy malt aroma and a neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. Assertive hop-forward flavors mirroring the aroma, with pineapple and tropical fruit at the forefront. Bitterness is firm and clean, balanced by a light, bready malt foundation. The finish is dry and crisp with a long-lasting, resinous hoppy aftertaste and no harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from the high hop concentration. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a lively mouthfeel with a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
