Monkey Business is an opulent Imperial Stout that presents as a liquid dessert, expertly weaving together the intensity of a high-gravity ale with decadent confectionery layers. At 12% ABV, it offers a sturdy, warming backbone for prominent notes of toasted coconut, gooey marshmallow, and rich, buttery toffee. Deep roasted malts provide essential structure, contributing flavors of bittersweet chocolate and espresso that prevent the profile from becoming overly cloying. The mouthfeel is exceptionally thick and velvety, coating the palate in a luxurious swirl of dark grain and sweet adjuncts, finishing with a lingering, harmonious warmth typical of a well-crafted pastry-style stout.

Appearance. SRM 40+. Jet black and completely opaque. Pours with a dense, deep tan head of moderate retention. High viscosity is apparent through visible legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity and complex. Dominant scents of toasted coconut and sweet marshmallow crème are layered over rich toffee and caramel. The base exhibits deep roasted malt characteristics of dark chocolate and espresso, with a subtle hint of dark fruit esters like raisins and a smooth, clean alcohol presence.

Taste. Intensely flavorful with a sweet initial impression of toffee and marshmallow. The mid-palate reveals toasted coconut and bittersweet chocolate, supported by a firm roasted malt backbone. Bitterness is moderate but balanced by the significant residual sugar. The finish is long, sweet, and decadent, featuring lingering notes of cocoa and vanilla.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, thick, and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present, providing a cozy, well-integrated glow without any harshness.
