This limited-edition English Porter, dubbed a "Samba Porter," presents a complex sensory bridge between traditional British brewing and Amazonian botanicals. A foundation of five malts provides deep layers of biscuit, caramel, and milk chocolate, perfectly complemented by the distinctively earthy and buttery richness of roasted chestnut. The addition of ají introduces a subtle, spicy complexity on the nose and a gentle, tingling warmth on the finish, while uña de gato contributes a faint herbal depth. Balanced and artisanal, it retains the style's classic drinkability while showcasing a unique woody and peppery character that defines this festive collaboration.
Appearance. Deep dark brown with brilliant ruby highlights. Crowned by a dense, creamy, and persistent light tan head that leaves consistent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring toasty, bready malt and milk chocolate. Prominent nutty notes of roasted chestnut blend with a mild, earthy hop character and a very subtle, peppery spice from the ají. Low fruity esters of dried plum are present.
Taste. Initial impressions of sweet caramel and toffee followed by a soft, chocolatey roast. The chestnut adds a unique woody, nutty mid-palate richness. Hop bitterness is medium-low and earthy, balancing a slight sweetness. The finish is clean with a lingering, very mild peppery tingle from the ají.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a noticeably creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate, supporting the malt weight. A very slight, pleasant warmth is perceived from the combination of alcohol and the Amazonian peppers.
