Amager Bryghus Todd the Axeman IPA kræver ingen større introduktion for IPA-elskere. Kender du ikke Todd, men kan du godt lide en IPA med masser af citrusfrugter og fyrrenåle i både smag og duft og ikke mindst masser af bitterhed, så er den her IPA lige noget for dig. Som med alle Amager Bryghus‘ øl er der ikke sparet på noget, og derfor får du her en virkelig lækker øl med smæk for skillingen. Prøv den til krydret mexicansk mad eller en lækker hjemmelavet burger fra grillen. Det her en virkelig lækker West Coast IPA!

Amager Bryghus startede i 2007, hvor de to kammerater og hjemmebryggere, Morten og Jacob, blev enige om, at der manglede et bryggeri på Amager. Egentlig var meningen at starte stille og roligt ud, da pengene til større investeringer ikke lige var til stede. Men ved et „uheld“ opnåede et af deres første bryg en Top 50 placering på listen over de bedste øl i verden på en amerikansk hjemmeside, og så gik det pludseligt stærkt. Siden da har flere af Amager Bryghus‘ øl været fast inventar på listen over de 100 bedste øl i verden på hjemmesiden ratebeer.com. Amager Bryghus‘ varemærke er de lækre og smagsfulde IPA’er og ikke mindst deres mørke øl, som de er berømte for.

Hacer de la pasión un estilo de vida. No es la primera vez que oímos esa frase como premisa de una cervecería. Pero la verdad es que muchas comparten este leitmotiv. Una de ellas es la danesa Amager Bryghus, que también es la historia de dos amigos, Morten Valentin Lundsbak y Jacob Storm. Después de muchas horas compartiendo su afición como homebrewers decidieron montar su propia cervecería en 2007. Actualmente Amager es una cervecera de éxito internacional. Es éxito se basa en su “gestión del caos” y una política de imagen corporativa que no renuncia al humor, la ironía y el sarcasmo. En la línea de unir las pasiones, las amistades y la cerveza, los daneses se preguntaron cuál era el cervecero más metalero del panorama craft. Después de arduas discusiones concluyeron que era Todd Haug de la micro de Minnesota Surly Brewing. Todd había demostrado por partida doble su metalidad, liderando dos grupos, uno de speed metal y otro de stoner, casi nada. Amager homenajean su compromiso con el headbanging con esta American IPA con maltas Golden Promise (la malta típica de la micro de Minnesota) y los lúpulos: Herkules, Citra y Mosaic. Como novedad os contamos que por fín la marca se ha lanzado con el formato de latas de 44 cl, algo que muchos fans llevaban tiempo reclamando. Si alguno se pregunta de dónde viene lo del hombre hacha le dejamos un video para que se deleite con su “instrumento”.

Realizzata impiegando luppoli Mosaic, Citra ed Hercules, emana avvolgenti e freschi profumi di frutta tropicale (ananas, passion fruit e mango), agrumi (pompelmo, arancia, limone e mandarino) e melone, insieme a sentori erbacei, floreali, un pizzico di aghi di pino ed un tocco maltato (pane, miele e biscotto). Corpo e carbonatazione si attestano su livelli medi. Ciò che il naso ha rilevato viene confermato al palato con una bevuta morbida e cremosa, di alto livello, ricca di succosa frutta tropicale, croccanti agrumi con una forte venatura maltata. L’amaro è decisamente presente ma la degustazione rimane sempre molto ben bilanciata. Secca e pulita, esce elegantemente di scena con un lungo finale amaro, ricco di scorza d’agrumi e resina.

Descripció For quite some time the Amager crew has been discussing this question: which person is the most rock’n’roll in the whole craft beer world – is it Barnaby Struve of Three Floyds or is it Todd Haug of Surly Brewing? In the end it wasn’t really all that difficult to decide since only Todd has played for Laura Dern in a David Lynch movie (yeah, Nicolas Cage was in that same movie, but since when did he count?) AND Todd plays the guitar in both a speed metal band and a stoner band. Add to that that Todd and his wife Linda are some of the nicest people to hang out with. So Todd, here’s to you: “Todd – The Axe Man” – a potent IPA loaded with fresh American aroma hops on a base of rich Golden Promise malt, Surly’s signature malt. Raise a glass to Todd, world class brewer – and master of the axe!
