Taste. Initial impression is intensely rich and sweet, featuring layers of caramel, toasted biscuit, and vanilla. The mid-palate introduces a sharp cinnamon spice and deep roasted grain bitterness which balances the residual sugars. Hop flavor is low, allowing the speculaas cookie character and dark chocolate malt to dominate a long, warming finish.
Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied with a thick, chewy, and velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate-low, providing just enough lift to the heavy frame, accompanied by a smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth.
