This American Stout captures the essence of a winter hearth, blending a robust, roasted foundation with evocative adjuncts. The inclusion of cacao nibs deepens the natural bittersweet chocolate notes of the dark malts, while a specialized blend of chai spices and ginger introduces a complex, aromatic heat. These spices harmonize with the resinous American hop character, creating a sensory profile that is both decadent and invigorating. Appearance. Jet black (40 SRM) and completely opaque. It supports a large, persistent, and creamy light brown head that leaves thick lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity with a dominant character of roasted coffee and dark chocolate from the cacao nibs. A prominent spicy layer follows, featuring notes of ginger and the aromatic components of chai like cinnamon and cardamom. Low resinous hop aroma and clean fermentation esters.
Taste. Initial impression is rich and decadent with bittersweet chocolate and heavily roasted grain. The mid-palate introduces a spicy warmth from the ginger and chai spices.
