Kriek presentata la prima volta in occasione del Toer de Geuze del 2013 prodotta con l’aggiunta del 40% di ciliegie polacche intere.
Di color rosso borgogna con riflessi rubino, schiuma fine ed evanescente.
Al naso ben avvertibili gli aromi di ciliegia e del nocciolo e come in ogni fermentazione spontanea che si rispetti risultano facilmente percepibili i sentori rustici di stallatico, cuoio e cantina.
Tutti i sentori avvertiti al naso in bocca si trasformano in gustose note di frutta rossa come ciliegia, amarena e frutti di bosco. In secondo piano sono avvertibili leggere note acetiche, più marcate quelle citriche e acidule. Al palato molto carbonata e secca.

Smaak 3 Fonteinen Intens Rood PX is een unieke fruitlambik die voortkwam uit een experiment met Pedro Ximenez (PX)-sherryvaten. Tijdens het zoeken naar geschikte vaten kwam 3 Fonteinen een partij PX-vaten tegen die, hoewel subtiel, een lichte turfachtige smaak hadden. Omdat deze vaten niet geschikt werden bevonden voor het Zenne y Frontera-project, besloot men ze te gebruiken voor het blenden van lambik met fruit. Dit leidde tot een innovatieve creatie, waarin zure kersen de hoofdrol spelen. Deze kersen werden deels gemacereerd op jonge, licht geturfde lambik en deels op twee jaar oude pure lambik. Dit proces zorgde voor een interessante balans tussen de frisse, jonge lambik met subtiele rokerige nuances en de rijpere, funky, zure tonen van de oudere lambik.

De uiteindelijke blend bestaat uit een combinatie van jonge lambik en drie jaar oude lambik, waarbij 55% van de blend uit oude lambik bestaat. Dit draagt bij aan de complexiteit en diepgang van de smaak, met de typische kenmerken van gerijpte lambik. Bovendien is de fruitintensiteit uitzonderlijk hoog, met maar liefst 567 gram zure kersen per liter, waardoor de fruitige smaak van de kersen duidelijk naar voren komt zonder de subtiliteiten van de lambik en de invloed van de PX-vaten te overheersen. De blend brengt zo een harmonieuze combinatie van rijke, rijpe lambik, krachtige fruitigheid en een delicate, rokerige toets. Dit is de eerste keer dat 3 Fonteinen een dergelijke fruitlambik op de markt brengt, waarbij PX-vaten met een turfachtig karakter op deze manier zijn gebruikt, wat resulteert in een gelaagde en expressieve smaakervaring. Serveertips Om het aroma van dit bier het best tot zijn recht te laten komen adviseren wij een bijhorend glas te gebruiken. Niet enkel bieren, maar ook heel wat andere gerelateerde producten zoals bierselecties, vatjes, geschenkboxen, ... behoren tot ons assortiment.

While looking for old sherry barrels, we cannot get lucky all the time. While we will be sourcing barrels directly from bodegas to assure provenance and quality, we had a batch of Pedro Ximenez (PX) barrels that was on the peated side (albeit subdued). As a result, we decided not to use them for Zenne y Frontera, but to blend them with other (fruit) lambikken into geuze and fruit blends.
This is the first of such blends to be released. Sour cherries were macerated partly on young peated lambik and partly on two-year old straight lambik in a stainless steel tank. We blended with young and three-year old (!) lambik. 55% of the blend is old lambik and the final fruit intensity is 567 grams of sour cherries per litre.

Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen is one of the last traditional lambic breweries and geuze blenders in Belgium. Rooted in the village of Beersel in the Zenne Valley between Brussels and the Pajottenland, 3 Fonteinen has a firm belief of what lambic tradition looks like. That is why they steadfastly continue to create the finest authentic lambic beers – 100% spontaneous from brew to bottle – continuing with the same strict process and craftsmanship used by Gaston and Armand Debelder. Family-owned with a team of 15 enthusiasts, they still brew in the village center of Beersel while giving our barrels and bottles of geuze and fruit lambic time to develop in a special warm room in Lot, a few kilometers away from the brewery.
