A késői és/vagy hidegkomlózási technikákra támaszkodik, hogy kirobbanóan lédús, trópusi gyümölcsös íz- és illatélményt nyújtson. Színe általában baracklére emlékeztet. A technika és az alapanyagválasztás ügyes egyensúlya, amely gyakran búzát vagy zabot is tartalmaz, csábító ködösséget kölcsönözve az amerikai IPA e népszerű változatának.
A „double” az alapstílushoz képesti magasabb szárazanyag tartalomra, ezáltal magasabb alkoholfokra és ehhez passzoló nagobb mennyiségű komlófelhasználásra utal.

We love breweing triple IPAs and we love breweing BLUE COMET so We took everything we loved about Blue’s malt bill and amplified it to hit a massive 10.2%. Triple Comet was hit with a massive double dry hop of Citra, Comet, Simcoe, Galaxy, & some Strata for good measure. We’re getting hints of candied fruit and an intense burst of hops on the nose. Pouring dense, with a beautiful haze, this one drinks with notes of sweet honeydew melon and some citrus up front, then finishes with a sweet sappy finish that stays with you.
