Western Herd Turlough Irish Porter

This porter displays nice malt complexity for its ABV, very smooth and easy to drink. Named after the disappearing lakes in the Burren region

A dark ruby/black with a creamy head. Slight aromas of coffee and chocolate with flavours of vanilla, coffee, chocolate and a creamy, smooth mouthfeel

Hops: Willamette, Cascade

Malts: Pale, White Wheat, Caramunich III, CaraPils, Carafa I, Carafa III

Yeast: Nottingham

WHAT IS PORTER?
Black or chocolate malts are used to create this dark, almost black traditional English beer. Slight sweet chocolate is a characteristic flavour profile of this style. Hop aromas and flavours take a back seat allowing the malt to dominate resulting in a more moderate alcohol content, typically between 4 – 7% ABV.
