Our Table Beer is a low-strength pale ale brewed to deliver real character, depth, and balance at around 3% ABV. First brewed in 2012, it was developed with the idea of creating something modest in strength but rich in body and aroma – drawing more from the English cask tradition than the punchier American pale styles.
This is not a compromise beer. It’s a deliberate exercise in subtlety, balance, and restraint. Beer Details Size: 500ml Style: Pale Ale Malt: Maris Otter, with a touch of rolled oats for softness and texture Hops: Vary by batch, depending on what’s best and freshest Yeast: American ale yeast – clean, bright, and hop-friendly ABV: ~3.0% Tasting Notes
Expect a pale golden pour with a soft, rounded body and gentle carbonation. The oats and elevated mash temperature bring fullness and a touch of sweetness to support the hops. Aromas vary by batch – from citrus and tropical fruit to floral or piney notes – but always in balance, never overwhelming.

The Kernel Brewery was founded in 2009 by Evin O'Riordain in Bermondsey, England. It was one of London's first craft brewers, and within 10 years it had helped inspire the establishment of around a hundred new microbreweries in the capital. The original 6.5 hectolitre brewhouse on Druid Street was replaced in 2012 by a 32hl plant on Dockley Road in the Spa Terminus railway arches.
The brewery's ethos strongly favours quality over quantity, with quality control being at the heart of the operation. Around 90 percent of the beer Kernel produces is sold in London. O'Riordain says that "the demand is way higher than anything we can produce, itâs far beyond our capacity."
Kernel avoids unnecessary experimentation, with each brew being an intentional evolution of the previous batch. The hop types used are constantly changing in line with availability and the varying characteristics of each year's crop.
