Description

Without question the star turn here; an evolution of our Big Ideas IPA, it’s essentially the same recipe with a few nips and tucks – we’ve switched from Pilsner to Extra Pale Maris Otter and added a handful of Vienna malt to give the foundation a bit more oomph, and dialled the Citra/Simcoe/Amarillo hops up a bit too. It was already a beer that sang from the rooftops, now it’s dancing on the ceiling.

Description

Solid malt foundation, a good amount of bitterness and tons of delicious hop aroma and flavour from Amarillo, Citra and Simcoe – three absolute legends of modern brewing that just make beer good. It’s beautifully balanced and highly smashable with bigs wafts of pink grapefruit, lychee and passionfruit plus a touch of pine resin.

Simple Things say “We call it DDH IPA because it feels as though you have to have some kind of describing term with an IPA these days (and it is dry hopped twice of course) but to me, this is just an IPA, plain and simple. IMHO the best IPAs have hop aroma, sweet malt and bitterness all very much to the fore, working both together and individually, and that’s exactly what’s going on here.”
