Su nombre hace referencia a un cartel, que aún se encuentra en Kent, que indicaba el camino a los peregrinos que iban a Canterbury en el que aparece un dedo en vez de una flecha para indicar la dirección. Notas de Cata
Vista: Color rojo brillante, levemente turbia, de cremosa espuma blanca.
Olfato: Aromas al dulzor de la malta y el caramelo, además de leves matices a frutos secos.
Gusto: Sabores a malta tostada ligeramente dulce, dando paso a recuerdos florales que balancean hacia un fuerte y largo amargor final.
Shepherd Neame Fundada en 1698 en Faversham, Kent, por el mismo alcalde la ciudad, aunque existe evidencia de que la elaboración de cerveza se ha llevado a cabo en el mismo sitio desde al menos 1573. De propiedad familiar desde 1864, derivando con ello que junto con la cervecería Three Tuns en Shropshire, sea la cervecería más antigua de Gran Bretaña. Con más de un siglo de historia, continúa comprometida con la elaboración de la cerveza, tanto Cask Ales como cervezas filtradas, siempre respetando la tradición y manteniendo las recetas usadas desde siglos atrás, en combinación con los estándares de servicios contemporáneos y los más recientes avances tecnológicos. La producción actual es de alrededor de 350.00 HL. al año, exportando sus productos a más de 35 países. Además la compañía posee 328 pubs y hoteles, predominantemente en Kent, Londres y el sudeste de Inglaterra.

Bishops Finger Ale стал первым сваренном на пивоварне Shepherd Neame после отмены нормирования солода, вызванного Войной, в 50е годы прошлого века. Сварен из солода Crystal, янтарно-рубинового цвета, со сложным сочетанием ароматов фруктов, чернослива, кураги, пряностей, вкуса корицы и легкой цитрусовой горечью. Тип: темный эль (коричневое, фильтрованное) Крепость — 5,4%, Плотность — 12,3%, Емкость — 0,5 л стекло, Количество в упаковке —12 бут. Пивоварня SHEPHERD NEAME - варит КУЛЬТОВОЕ ПИВО. Самые первые упоминания о пивоварне из местечка Faversham в графстве Kent , ведут к 1147 году. Тогда в этом месте было основано аббатство. При нем был варочный цех, в котором и варили пиво для монахов. А вот официальная история пивоварни SHEPHERD NEAME велась с 1698 года. Так, по крайней мере, до недавнего времени считал ее владелец. Однако в ходе реставрации здания были обнаружены некие документы, которые подтверждают существование пивоварни со второй половины 16 века. It is one of the UK’s oldest bottled beers, brewed since 1958.

Bishops Finger holds EU Protected Geographical Indication, recognising its unique provenance. Uniquely, it is brewed to a charter which states it can only be brewed by the head brewer on a Friday and that it must be brewed using 100% natural ingredients, Kentish hops and barley, and the brewery’s own artesian mineral water.
