Description

Tsoureki Imperial Stout – Seven Island

Tsoureki is a traditional Greek Easter bread that’s a deliciously soft, gently sweet yeast bread similar to brioche, but has it’s own unique and distinctive flavour coming from a spice called Mahlab which is made from ground cherry stones. Also mastic, an edible resin with a piney, cedar type flavour, often described as a combination of fennel, anise and mint. It can be used as a sort of natural chewing gum or used in liqueur.

This Imperial stout was brewed with mastic, mahlab, cardamon, white chocolate, hazelnut praline and vanilla to get all the flavours of this famous Greek dessert ‘Tsoureki’ into a stout. Yamas!

Seven Island are a modern craft brewery from Corfu founded by two guys who wanted more from their beer than cold and gassy. They have a passion for indulgent tasty beer, packed with bold flavour and aromas and it certainly shows.
