Samuel Smith la elabora desde 1989 exclusivamente para la época navideña y en una edición limitada, cambiando la etiqueta de la botella cada año. Este año, la etiqueta de la Winter Welcome rinde homenaje a los uniformes de los carteros victorianos de 1800 en Reino Unido. Estos carteros eran fácilmente reconocibles por su distintivo uniforme rojo, motivo por el cual eran apodados “Robin Redbreasts”, en alusión al petirrojo, un pájaro comúnmente asociado al invierno en el Reino Unido. Durante la Navidad, los carteros eran muy esperados por la gente, y los artistas de la época solían retratar a los petirrojos con cartas y postales, simbolizando la entrega de correspondencia por los carteros victorianos.
