Samuel Smith Fundada en Tadcaster en 1758, no ha experimentado grandes transformaciones desde que pasara a manos de la familia Smith en 1847, prueba de ello es el empleo del método de fermentación en tanques abiertos de pizarra de su región, Yorkshire, dando muestra de su carácter tradicional y artesanal. Después de 5 generaciones al frente de la cervecería, es una de las pocas cervecerías independientes que quedan en Inglaterra, la levadura es una cepa heredera de la misma que usaban a comienzos del siglo pasado, el lúpulo sigue siendo agregado a mano y el agua sigue siendo extraída en baldes de cobre con dos siglos de antigüedad. Incluso mantienen el oficio tradicional de maestro tonelero para construir los barriles de madera donde aún continúan envasando parte de la producción, que luego es repartida localmente también por su propia flota de carruajes tirados por preciosos caballos percherones. Sin duda, estamos ante la cervecería más tradicional del Reino Unido y una de las que mayor prestigio ha alcanzado gracias a la calidad y autenticidad de sus cervezas, destacando principalmente por tus espectaculares Stout.

Das Wasser wird aus dem brauereieigenen Brunnen gewonnen, der seit 1758 wunderbar hartes Brauwasser spendet. Aus diesen feinen Zutaten wird ein cremiges, weiches Stout gebraut, das zu gleichen Teilen süffig und luxuriös erscheint.
Samuel Smiths Organic Chocolate Stout fließt in einem undurchsichtigen Mahagoniton ins Glas. Die leicht getönte Schaumkrone bildet einen wunderschönen Kontrast zum tiefdunklen Bier und verströmt zugleich einen voluminösen Duft nach warmem Kakao mit Sahne, Zimt und Marshmallows. Zu diesem feinen Geruch gesellen sich Noten von frisch gebrühtem Kaffee und kräftig geröstetem Malz. Der Antrunk offenbart ein vollmundiges Bier mit herrlich samtigem Mundgefühl und intensiven Aromen. Eine weiche, zartschmelzende Schokoladennote umschmeichelt den Gaumen und erinnert an hochwertige Trinkschokolade. Eine fein-röstige Kaffeenote steuert eine zarte Säure hinzu, die die weiche Süße perfekt ausbalanciert. Das Organic Chocolate Stout liefert, was es verspricht: Reichhaltige Schokoladennoten, Aromen feinwürzigen Kakaopulvers und eine tiefdunkle Komplexität, die Spaß macht. Das Finish ist kakaobetont und bleibt noch lange auf der Zunge.
