Das Oatmeal Stout von Samuel Smiths ist eine Hommage an die uralte englische Braukunst – ein dunkles, cremiges Bier mit Geschichte, Charakter und unverwechselbarem Geschmack. Gebraut wird es mit hartem Brunnenwasser, das seit 1758 aus 85 Fuß Tiefe aus dem originalen Brunnen der Old Brewery in Tadcaster gefördert wird – ein echtes Stück englischer Brautradition.
Die Gärung erfolgt in den legendären „Stone Yorkshire Squares“, traditionellen steinernen Gärbottichen, die dem Bier seine samtige, seidige Textur und ein besonders klares Geschmacksprofil verleihen. Die Zugabe von Haferflocken sorgt für ein weiches Mundgefühl und macht das Oatmeal Stout angenehm trinkbar – trotz seiner Tiefe und Dichte.
Im Glas zeigt sich das Bier nahezu undurchsichtig dunkel, mit Aromen von geröstetem Malz, feiner Bitterschokolade und dezenten Kaffeenoten. Der Geschmack ist komplex, halbtrocken mit einem bittersüßen Abgang, der lange nachhallt.

SAMUEL SMITH -Sam Smith's is a classic English brewery, founded in 1758 and still going strong. The brewery is notable for using it's own borehole, and fermenting beers in huge stone "Yorkshire square" fermenters. Their beers are sometimes viewed as a throwback to "the olden days", but they are far from old-fashioned - in fact many of their beers inspired the first generation of American craft brewers when they were first imported to the USA in the late 1970s.Over the years, they have moved increasingly towards using organic ingredients, feeling that these give the best results. Their beers are all certified by the Vegan Society.
