During the Wilhelminian period, at the end of the 19th century, breweries sprang up like mushrooms in Cologne. These two had three sons: Heinrich Reißdorf – he died in an accident in the brewery in 1936 – and the partners Hermann-Josef and Karl-Heinz Reißdorf, who died in 1996 and 1997. They led the company into the difficult economic times – the brewery was 90% destroyed – after the Second World War.
